Manchester United have launched a shock £15million move for Southampton winger Sadio Mane.
The Red Devils were snubbed in their bid to sign Pedro from Barcelona, who is now on course to join Chelsea.
Louis van Gaal is desperate to land another winger after selling Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain.
He had lined up Pedro and Ed Woodward had flown to Barcelona to tie up the deal.
But it now appears that Van Gaal's ruthlessness towards Victor Valdes has put the winger off.
Valdes played with Pedro at Barcelona and the 28-year-old is also understood to have spoken to Cesc Fabregas about moving to London.
United have also made an approach for Thomas Muller.
The World Cup winner is though to be keen on a move to Manchester - as exclusively revealed by News News Blog Sport on Sunday.
And, according to reports in Germany, United made a £60million move for the Bayern star.
