SOUTHAMPTON will be without boss Ronald Koeman in the dugout at the trip to Newcastle – he has a hamstring injury – but a Koeman will be in charge, brother and assistant Erwin.
And he is well aware of the expectations around St Mary’s after last season’s seventh place, their best-ever Premier League finish.
Erwin said: “We lost games last year against Sunderland, Leicester, and they played with more intensity than us. We have to improve ourselves because the expectations are higher than last year.”
Jordy Clasie and Shane Long are doubts for today’s game.
