| Christian Benteke has been backed to fire Liverpool to the top four |
The Belgium international was Brendan Rodgers' big-money signing this summer, costing the club a hefty £32.5million.
However the former Aston Villa man has already begun to repay the Liverpool faithful, netting his first goal for the club in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth last night.
And club legend Rush believes Benteke will now kick on and fire Liverpool to a Champions League place with ease.
He told talkSPORT: He won every header, he held the ball up well and it’s a different option for the players. He was excellent and I think he can get better.
“He can be the difference between fifth, six and getting in the top four and that’s the target Liverpool will be looking at.”
The 24-year-old scored 42 league goals for Villa in 88 appearances and has also netted seven times for the Belgian national team in 24 outings.
