| Fabio Borini is expected to leave Anfield for £8million |
FABIO BORINI is having a medical at Sunderland as he closes in on an £8m move from Liverpool.
Sunderland resurrected their interest in Borini after the striker's proposed transfer to Inter Milan collapsed.
Borini is now set to move to the Stadium of Light just a year after rejecting a permanent switch there
The forward spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Sunderland.
Premier League new boys Watford were also interested in Borini, 24, but he seems destined to return to the North East.
Borini has said his goodbyes to his Liverpool team-mates and had been expected to return to Italy with Inter.
But that move was called off and Sunderland are now in pole position to land Borini.
They would pay an additional £2m depending on appearances..
