AROUNA KONE saved Everton's blushes against newly promoted Watford with a late equaliser.

 

Kone's late equaliser earned Everton a point at home to Premier League newcomers Watford.

Mexican Miguel Layun put Watford ahead with a delightful half-volley in the first half after Everton failed to clear.

Ross Barkley then got the Toffees back on level terms with a stunning effort before Odion Ighalo's composed strike stunned Goodison Park for a second time.

But substitute Kone had the last laugh for Roberto Martinez's side, snatching a late draw with an angled finish across Heurelho Gomes in the Watford goal.
