Europa League: Liverpool and Tottenham handed tough away trips as Celtic face Ajax
The Reds were placed in Group B against Russian outfit and top seeds Kazan.
They will also face French side Bordeaux and FC Sion of Switzerland.
Tottenham, meanwhile, were top seeds in Group J and face Belgium side Anderlecht.
They will also play against Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco and Qarabag of Azerbaijan.
Mauricio Pochettino's men were knocked out at the last-32 stage in last season's Europa League.
They have competed in the tournament for the past four years and in the 2012/13 campaign made it to the quarter-finals.
Scottish champions Celtic face a tough challenge to get out of their group after being drawn against Ajax, Fenerbahce and Molde.
This season's final will be held at St Jakob-Park, the home ground of Swiss champions Basel, in May.
FC Midtjylland, who ousted Southampton in the playoff qualification round, are in Group D with Napoli, Brugge and Legia Warsaw.
