Dick Advocaat refuses to rule out quitting Premier League's rock bottom club
Dick Advocaat admitted Ellis Short may not give him funds to invest in his squad
DICK ADVOCAAT has plunged his Sunderland future into fresh doubt by refusing to rule out quitting the crisis-torn club.

Lesss than 24 hours before today's crucial game against Swansea at the Stadium of Light, Advocaat admitted owner Ellis Short may not provide the funds he believes are required for the Black Cats to avoid relegation.
He has also told striker Jermain Defoe he'll play where he's told and not where he wants, and says he would not stand in the way of any player wanting to leave before the transfer deadline.
Asked if he could give assurances he would stay even if he did not get his way in the transfer market, Advocaat replied: "I don't want to discuss that now. We are concentrating on the Swansea game."

Advocaat has dismissed claims he was misled by Short over spending plans when he decided to return but is becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of cash at his disposal.
"He says we have four or five new players but I said we need quality players," added Advocaat. "Have I got that? Not yet. Again, you always get what you pay for.
"Will it be a fight against relegation? Yes but if we get the players in we are working on, it will be easier than last season. What happens in the next week will shape our season."

Swansea boss Garry Monk has some sympathy for Advocaat, but has no intention of providing his opposite number with any crumbs of comfort today.
"Dick is a top manager, but of course we can try to make their crowd turn on them," said Monk. "We have got to show no mercy to them. My players know that if it was the other way round, Sunderland would show no mercy to us. We have to do the same."
