LEICESTER CITY have completed the signing of Caen midfielder N'Golo Kante.
The uncapped Frenchman arrives on a four-year deal to become Claudio Ranieri's first signing since replacing Nigel Pearson at the helm.
A club statement read: "Leicester City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of N’Golo Kante from French Ligue 1 side Caen on a four-year deal."
Leicester reportedly negotiated a fee with Caen last month, believed to be £5.6million.
The 24-year-old is the fourth arrival at the King Power Stadium this summer, following defenders Robert Huth and Christian Fuchs and striker Shinji Okazaki.
Premier League rivals Arsenal are long-term admirers of Kante, while Marseille have been in talks with the defensive midfielder for a number of weeks.
The club added: "The Foxes beat off firm competition to secure the signature of Kante, whose tenacious and tough tackling approach has seen him catch the eye of a number of teams across Europe."
