Chelsea spending continues after Man Utd coup with £40m bid for Tottenham striker target
Chelsea had Anthony Martial watched in Monaco's defeat to Valencia in the Champions League play-off
CHELSEA are lining up a bid of around £40million for Monaco striker Anthony Martial, according to reports.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho appears keen to continue his spending at Stamford Bridge after securing a massive coup by signing Spain star Pedro from under the noses of Manchester United.
And they might yet upset another Premier League rival, with Tottenham heavily linked to Martial earlier in the transfer window.

Spanish publication AS claim Chelsea have launched an official bid.
Technical director Michael Emenalo is understood to have watched the France Under-21 international play 90 minutes in the French side's 3-1 defeat to Valencia in the Champions League play-off round.

While the 19-year-old was recently handed a new contract to stave off interest from Spurs, Mourinho is thought to be desperate for more new signings and a bumper bid could be difficult to turn down.
Martial is previously quoted as saying he is happy at the club but failure to secure a place in the Champions League group stage - which now seems likely - could change his plans.
He made 31 Ligue 1 appearances in the last campaign, scoring eight goals.
After starting his career at Lyon, where he spent one season, Monaco paid around £3m to sign him as an 18-year-old.
