Griffin Park will undergo a pitch relay after just two games this season |
The club have said the decision to relay the playing surface at Griffin Park is the best way to ensure it is at a high standard for the rest of the 2015/16 season.
"With the match next Tuesday now postponed, we will not have a match at Griffin Park until we play Reading on Saturday 29 August. This will give us a clear window to relay the pitch," said Brentford chief executive Mark Devlin.
"Over the past few weeks we have been working hard on the pitch. We have now decided it is best to relay it. We can use the next two weeks to replace the current pitch before the Reading match.
"All tickets issued for the match next Tuesday will be valid on September 29 and ticket office staff will be able to refund anyone now unable to make the rearranged date. The club would like to apologise to any supporter inconvenienced by the change but I hope all Bees fans understand that this is the best solution in the circumstances."
