Brendan Rodgers reveals what made the difference in Liverpool's victory over Stoke
Brendan Rodgers expressed his delight at overseeing Liverpool's 1-0 victory at Stoke
LIVERPOOL'S "determination and quality" was the difference in their 1-0 win at Stoke today, claims Brendan Rodgers.

The Reds benefited from a late Philippe Coutinho strike to edge past Stoke 1-0 at the Britannia.

Rodgers' men had lost at the ground 6-1 on the final day of last season.

But the manager revelled in their victory, which kick starts their Premier League top-four challenge.
"It's always difficult coming to Stoke," he conceded

"Defensively we were strong and we always know we have the quality to win a game.
"It was embarrassing (the 6-1 back in May) but today you've seen the determination and the quality.
"It was definitely one for (the fans). They'll be proud of the team tonight."

Rodgers fielded four debutants in his starting XI, having spent upwards of £90million on signings this summer.
"I always felt last season's result at Stoke was a one off," he added.
"The players can put that behind them now and focus on moving forward."
