Aston Villa eyeing former Manchester City defender
Joleon Lescott is in talks with West Brom over a new contract
ASTON VILLA are still interested in West Brom defender Joleon Lescott, according to reports.

The former Manchester City defender only has 12 months left on his contract and Tim Sherwood is keen to bring him to Villa Park, according to the Daily Mirror.
Villa have already had an opening bid rejected as Tony Pulis confirmed the Baggies are in talks over a new contract, but an agreement is yet to be reached.

“He has been talking to the club about a new contract," he said.
"But at any football club if people come in and offer the money, and you think it is right and the player thinks it is right, then deals are done.”
Lescott didn't feature in Albion's goalless draw at Watford on Saturday but has trained this week ahead of their game against Chelsea this weekend.

The 33-year-old may be tempted to join Villa - the club he supported growing up - if he gets a better deal there.
It's understood that Sherwood is keen to bring in added competition for Micah Richard, Ciaran Clark, Jores Okore and Nathan Baker, who recently penned a new deal.
