Alexandre Lacazette is set to sign a new contract with Ligue 1 club Lyon |
ARSENAL and Manchester United target Alexandre Lacazette has agreed a new deal with Ligue 1 side Lyon, according to reports in France.
French football expert Matt Spiro tweeted 'Lacazette will sign new Lyon contract in coming days.'
Despite recent reports from L'Equipe that the 24-year-old had been allowed to leave the French club, the forward looks set to renew his contract.
Louis Van Gaal had hinted last month that he was going to sign a 'mystery striker' - with the Frenchman being a possibility.
The United boss now looks to have turned his attentions to La Liga instead with Barcelona forward Pedro set to complete a £22m move to Old Trafford some time this week.
While Arsenal had shown interest in Lacazette - who scored 27 goals in Ligue 1 last season - as well as fellow French international Karim Benzema.
Benzema's future remains uncertain at Real Madrid and if the Gunners wish to lure the 27-year-old they'll have to fork out £45m.
Liverpool have been the latest Premier League club linked with the striker despite already spending £32.5m on Christian Benteke.
