Xbox Live down: Xbox One and Xbox 360 fans continue to be affected by gaming outage
Xbox Live appears to be down for many users on the Xbox One and Xbox 360
XBOX LIVE appears to be down for users in the UK and North America trying to access the service via their Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.

UPDATE NINE: Fresh issues connected with logging into the Xbox Live service are being reported by Xbox One and Xbox 360 users tonight.
Xbox Live Core Services have been highlighted again for a second day in a row as being affected by issues connected with Creating new accounts on Xbox Live, managing those accounts, or recovering an account on a different device
Microsoft have confirmed the issues are being looked into but as usual haven't given a reason for the latest outage in service.
"Having trouble creating a new account on Xbox Live? We're on it! Our team is working hard to get this fixed right now.
"Thanks for your patience while we work, we'll update you as soon as we know more."
It follows on from issues hitting the service late on Sunday in both the UK and USA.
One UK based user commented: "No XBL here in North Wales, Internet has a full signal.
"First day off in ages and no XBOX Live, can't sign in at all and haven't been able to all day. UK service still down at 21:45."
UPDATE EIGHT: The Xbox Live Status page has been updated with a range of new applications that are currently not working properly for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users.
The ESPN app is listed as being affected on both consoles, along with the IGN media app.
Certain games are also unplayable, according to Microsoft, although it hasn't been verified which titles this current problem includes.
Users in the UK are reporting issues playing titles such as Call of Duty and Titanfall.
"Xbox members, are you having difficulties playing or saving certain games on Xbox Live? We're on it!" a post from the Microsoft support team reads.
"Our team is already hard at work trying to get this fixed.
"Thanks for your patience while we investigate. We'll update you again when we have more information."
One fan commenting on the recent outages, posted online: "I can sign in, but can't join a Call of Duty game, it just spins around and I'm the only person in the room."
Other issues include saving games and the general stability of the Friend Activity feature on Xbox One.
"We're on the case for those having trouble playing games or accessing saves," a post from Microsoft reads.
UPDATE SEVEN: Microsoft have announced that they have cleared all their prior investigations into the causes of last night's outages and have de-listed all problems from the official Xbox Live status page.
It would appear that access to gaming and media applications have been restored, following a Sunday which saw nearly all of Xbox Live's core services affected by a severe outage in Europe and North America.
Many fans found themselves unable to log in from around 8pm, UK time, for several hours, while other were unable to access key apps like Netflix or play downloaded games.
UPDATE SIX: Microsoft has added further online features to a growing list of problems affecting Xbox Live.
Browsing the Xbox Video Store and the Xbox Music Store has now been flagged as an ongoing issues, as well as downloading items that you have already purchased.
The Xbox support team have also confirmed that they are currently working on digital game access with the proper teams, after many users reported problems accessing certain titles earlier today.
"Can’t purchase content or subscriptions? Don’t worry! We’re working hard to get things back to normal as quickly as possible," an official support message reads.
"Additionally, are you having a tough time launching titles you’ve purchased digitally? Or trouble launching your favorite Xbox applications? We’re working on these issues too!"
Another Xbox Core Service has also been flagged by Microsoft, with a select number of Xbox One and Xbox 360 Applications reportedly not functioning as they should.
UPDATE FIVE: Microsoft say they are continuing their efforts to bring Xbox Live back online in full, although there are still some teething problems.
The Microsoft support team posted this message over two hours ago, writing: "Sign in across devices should be back to normal!
"Please Tweet us if you've got any other questions & we'll get things sorted together.
However since then there has been another, confirming that things have yet to get back to normal.
"Our teams are working hard to make sure you can access all of your game & app content," the post adds.
Users are still struggling to access their games and are being hit with an error message telling them that they are not connect to Xbox Live.
This problem has been confirmed to be affecting Xbox fans in both the UK and North America.

UPDATE FOUR: Microsoft have downgraded the issues linked with the Xbox Live Core Service but have pointed out surviving issues from today.
It appears that issues are still affecting gamers playing titles such as GTA 5 and Destiny in both the UK and USA, however.
Games are still failing to launch, with no current workaround available.
Buying downloadable items and Unlocking achievements are now listed as problems areas of Xbox Live, while many users are still reporting issues with Friend Activity and accessing Pinned apps.
"We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue," a message from Microsoft reads.
"We are definitely working to clear up any issues with games launching."
UPDATE THREE: Microsoft have confirmed that things are starting to improve for users, although Xbox Live's core services remain down for many gamers.
The issues were first reported at around 8pm UK time and were preceded by a huge surge of Xbox users revealing they were unable to sign in.
It's been over three hours since the problems began and News News Blog can confirm that core services are still down for select users in the US and UK.
Xbox.com was also affected but seems to be running smoother then before.
"We know you’re having a tough time navigating Xbox.com sites, and our best engineers are working with our partner to get it fixed," a messages reads from Microsoft.
"Thanks for staying patient while we work, Xbox members."
UPDATE TWO: Microsoft have given a further update on the situation surrounding the Xbox Live service via the support team.
"We're working hard on the current issues signing in to Xbox Live," the message reads.
"Thank you for your patience."
There does seem to have been a slight change in status in North America, with some users reporting that they can now sign in.
However, issues still remain over accessing certain key online features, such as Friend Activity and joining multiplayer sessions.
As always, it is usual that certain regions will come back online ahead of other, leading to a confused state over whether the service is full operational for all.
For many, Sign in is now possible but when it come to actually playing online, an error message telling them that they are in fact using their home screen in offline mode.
UPDATE ONE: Microsoft have confirmed that both Xbox Live and Xbox.com are currently being affected by server issues which are being looked into by their support team.
Signing into Xbox Live and accessing Xbox.com sites are the main issues at the moment, with Microsoft confirming: "Having trouble connecting to Xbox Live?
"We are currently working with our partner to find a fix for these issues.
"Thanks for being patient.
"Another update will be provided as soon as possible."
Problems first started popping up on social media around 8pm, UK time and continue to report problems accessing key online services.
One user wrote: "Not letting me start party and all my friends appear offline there say same thing, even though we are all online?
"Nothing is working and when I invite my Xbox freezes all my messages and friends list has been reset."
Nothing has changed on the official Xbox Live status page, which monitors if there are issues with the online servers.
It is not clear what is currently causing the issues or how long it could last.
The Friends List feature was hit by intermittent problems on Friday evening, with a select number of users also being hit by an hour-long interruption in services.
Both Xbox Live and PlayStation PSN have been hit by DDOS groups in the past, although there appears to be no indication as of this time that would be the source of the troubles today.
MFL....
