Alexis Sanchez may not start for Arsenal against Everton this weekend |
Pep Guardiola says Bayern Munich wasted chances to beat Arsenal during their 2-0 Champions League loss last night.
Bayern boss Guardiola watched on as goals gtom Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil earned Arsenal victory, while Petr Cech pulled off a number of fine saves to keep the Germans at bay.
"We had enough chances to win the match, or at least not to lose, but congratulations to Arsenal for the win and we will meet again in two weeks in Munich," said coach Guardiola.
"In the end we played with a back three, we attacked everywhere, we had chances in the box, we had control, but in the end they scored two goals and we, none.
"But I'm proud tonight of the team. I like to win but we played well with a lot of courage. In the second half we played amazing.
"Maybe we didn't have too many chances but they didn't cross the halfway line."
Arsenal Wenger has revealed that Arsenal suffered injuries to two key players during the clash at the Emirates.
Aaron Ramsey was substituted for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after 57 minutes, while star forward Alexis Sanchez - recently recovered from a hip injury - was withdrawn eight minutes from time for Kieron Gibbs.
"[Ramsey] is alright but very down because he told me that his hamstring is quite a tough one. He is out," Wenger said, referring to Arsenal's weekend clash with Everton.
"Alexis you could see he was quite jaded physically tonight. He still pushes himself so much and he finished exhausted.
"The two games with Chile, the traveling plus Watford, plus Bayern it is too much."
Arsenal face the Toffees in Saturday's 5.30pm kick off at the Emirates, with Sanchez a doubt to start.
Hector Bellerin insists he is not interested in rejoining Barcelona.
The Arsenal full-back, 20, signed for the Gunners in 2011 after coming up through the Barca academy.
There are reports in Spain suggesting Nou Camp bosses will look to sign him in January.
But Bellerin told Marca: "I came to Arsenal to stay here. I'm not thinking about going back.
"I'm happy and I'm playing. It's my fifth season and I feel like this is my home.
“I see it as very difficult to leave."
