SAIDO BERAHINO will not be sold in January, according to reports.
The 22-year-old has endured a difficult 12 months at the club after having a transfer request rejected and being relegated to training with the youth team.
And despite several run-ins with manager Tony Pulis, the Daily Telegraph are reporting that West Brom have warned any potential suitors not to make bids.
Both Spurs and Newcastle have reportedly made approaches for the £20million-rated striker this week only to be told that the player is not for sale under any circumstances.
News News Blog Sport understands Chelsea are also considering a move for the England international as they seek to provide proper competition for Diego Costa with Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao both struggling for fitness.
Berahino came to the Hawthorns in 2004 having only just arrived from war-torn Burundi to join his mother, a trip he made alone before he was even a teenager.
And having signed his first professional contract in 2011, the 22-year-old had loan spells at Northampton, Brentford and Peterborough before then-boss Steve Clarke made him West Brom's main striker for the 2013-14 season.
But when Tottenham came in with a bid last summer Berahino submitted a transfer request to join the Champions League contenders which was promptly rejected by chairman Jeremy Peace.
And the deal reportedly created significant acrimony between the two clubs which added to the striker's very public problems at West Brom has brought his availability to the attention of other Premier League clubs.
But Peace's resolve to keep his man has so far held firm.
