Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he's 'sorry' for bust-up with West Brom boss Tony Pulis
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has apologised for the touchline spat with West Brom boss Tony Pulis

LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp has said “sorry” to Tony Pulis following the war of words that overshadowed last weekend’s stalemate with West Brom.

The Anfield boss beat his chest in front of Pulis, refused to shake the out-stretched hand of West Brom assistant Martin O’Connor and later led his players towards The Kop where they bowed in appreciation for the support they had received in the closing stages of the match.
Pulis said he would only have done that if his team had won “a European Cup” yesterday, but Klopp opted to adopt a more conciliatory tone.
“Everything changed after the last game. I can easily say sorry for everything I said after the last game because I am emotional and Tony Pulis is similar,” he explained.
“It was not for me a bigger problem. I really forgot to shake hands, that's all. If we meet today it's no problem to say sorry and talk about what happened.

“I have big respect for his work, but it's not easy to switch on the lamps and switch them off. I wanted to go to my side, what can I say.”
Klopp had effectively dismissed West Brom were a long ball team, but Pulis hit back at his own press conference.
“I think it was disappointing but he’s got his opinions and he can say what he wants,” said Pulis.
“We apologise we actually played three longer passes in 99 minutes than Liverpool did in that game.
“As a football club we apologise to Liverpool for playing three longer passes.”

He added: “Everything you hear and everything talked about today there’s always a bit of spin on it.
“If I had a team that was worth £200 million playing against a team that was worth less than £20 million and we never won that game I’d be doing my best to divert it away from the fact that I had 10 times more value on the pitch than my opposition number had and couldn’t win the game.
“I’m just stating the facts. Forget all the spin, that’s the facts.
“I dont know the fella, I don’t want to say anything else. They were the facts.

“We’ve got a big game Saturday, a game that we think will be more difficult than the Liverpool game.”
