Jose Mourinho fuels Man United rumours by turning down job days after Chelsea sack
Jose Mourinho has reportedly turned down an offer to manage Seria A outfit Roma
 
JOSE MOURINHO has reportedly turned down an approach to manage Italian outfit Roma.
 
It is understood the Serie A club, who are fifth in the league heading into the winter break, are expected to sack current boss Rudi Garcia. 
And according to Sky Sports, Roma made contact with the 52-year-old about the top job, but he declined to enter talks over the role. 
Mourinho's representatives released a statement on Saturday outlining the Portuguese manager will not be taking a sabbatical, but it appears a return to Italy is not on the agenda.
 
The former Inter Milan coach has reportedly targeted , with his representatives believed to have got in touch with the Red Devils about the job - in light of the uncertainty surrounding Louis van Gaal's position at Old Trafford.
"There is no way I will return to Roma," he said in FourFourTwo
"I have good memories of my time in charge of Roma and I want the people to remember me for the Scudetto that we won. I wish Roma all the best, though.
 
"Garcia did well the past two seasons, but is having some problems now. That can happen to any coach. You go through good moments and bad ones. 
"We have to accept that and try to understand the reason behind the problems. It could be due to injuries or because of players who are not in great form for different reasons."
Former England coach Fabio Capello is also a possible candidate to take over at Roma.
