Fifa 16 'Beast' Adebayo Akinfenwa recognised in Guinness Book of World Records
Adebayo Akinfenwa has been recognised as the strongest player in Fifa 16 by Guinness World Records

ADEBAYO AKINFENWA's prowess in the gym can no longer be questioned as the Guinness Book of World Records has recognised him as the world's strongest footballer… in Fifa 16.

The AFC Wimbledon striker, nicknamed 'The Beast', has been consistently named the strongest player in the video game franchise over the past four years.
In the latest edition of the game the 33-year-old tips the scales with a strength rating of 98 out of 99 - two more than closest rival Chris Samba.
And the cult hero has now been honoured with a framed certificate to celebrate his accolade, being entered into the illustrious Guinness Book of World Records.

"People talk about size, but my stats speak for themselves, there ain't nobody stronger than me out there," he said.
Editor of the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition, Stephen Daultrey, also praised the forward for winning the award and putting League Two players on the map.
"Very few footballers repeatedly top-score in FIFA ratings unless they're Messi or Ronaldo, so it’s fantastic that a lower-league English player has been recognised by experts as the highest-strength player on four occasions," he said.

"Akinfenwa has become a real cult star off the back of his presence in FIFA. With his unconventional footballing physique and playing style, it’s very likely that Akinfenwa is the strongest pound-for-pound pro currently in the game – just as FIFA repeatedly claims."
His Guinness World Record for Strongest Player in FIFA will appear in the book's 2017 edition, with 2016 copies already on sale.
