ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has admitted Santi Cazorla could miss the next three months with a knee injury.
The Frenchman has also backed his injury-hit side but claimed ‘blame me if you want.’
Spanish star Cazorla is missing against Sunderland along with Alexis Sanchez who agravated a hamstring problem.
But Wenger is adamant the required precautions were taken in the case of the Chile ace.
“I don’t know about Sanchez and Cazorla honestly,” he said. “Sanchez is a hamstring but I don’t know how long it will take. He is usually a quick one. Cazorla we don’t know until he has seen a specialist. I have no news but it could be March, yes.
“Sanchez had four weeks holiday, he was rested in some games, he had all the medical signs to play before the games, five days between Zagreb and Norwich but nobody suggested he displaced his hamstring, when he was pushed into the cameras on the side of the field it did not shock anyone.
“I’m not an expert to know but if you want to blame me I have no problem with it.
“I never force anyone to play. We are in a job where you have to give 100 per cent so I don’t like to play players who are not 100 per cent.
“When I arrived it was me and my two assistants and Gary Lewin, now we have a team. But human beings are still human beings.”
Despite the injury woe, Wenger believes his side have as good a chance as any in an open race for the title.
“Mathematically 10-12 clubs have a chance of winning the Premier League but realistically about six,” he said.
