BROADCASTING giant Sky is set to infuriate millions of loyal customers by hiking TV prices again.
The company has already raised the cost of premium packages – including Sky Atlantic and sports channels – this year.
And from December 1 the price of line rental, calls and voicemail will rise for broadband customers.
Now millionaire CEO Jeremy Darroch has revealed TV fans will likely have to stump up more money for their subscriptions.
He said: "I think the opportunity for pricing is good and it is certainly our intention in the UK to do that [raise prices]."
"We want to do that behind innovation, behind improved service, behind improved content.
Mr Darroch also claimed Sky has continued to grow despite the rise of internet TV competitors such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.
He added claimed losing the rights to screen Champions League football matches has not dented its numbers of subscribers.
When the deal was struck earlier this year, some analysts claimed BT Sport taking over the rights could make it harder for Sky to raise prices in the future.
A spokesman for Sky told NewsNewsBlog.blogspot.com: "We continue to invest to improve all our products and services.
"Our pricing is kept under review but we will always offer great quality and value."
Sky – which boasts more than 10 million subscribers in the UK and Ireland – has spent the last decade moving away from offering a single bundle of services, Darroch said.
He said: "If we were only a service selling the big bundle today with a very narrow set of services, effectively forcing customers into a one-size-fits-all package, it would be harder."
