Robert Pires tips Premier League legend to succeed Arsene Wenger as Arsenal boss
Should Thierry Henry become Arsenal's new manager after Arsene Wenger?

THIERRY HENRY has been backed to succeed Arsene Wenger when he decides to step down as Arsenal manager by his former team-mate Robert Pires.

Wenger is in his 19th year as Gunners boss and has a contract with the club until 2017.
Given the legacy Wenger has created, supporters are anxious about who will take over from the Frenchman when he eventually leaves.

But Pires believes Henry, who is Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer, is steadily building himself up to take the top job.
“Can I see Thierry Henry taking over from Arsene Wenger? Yes, why not?” Pires told Omnisport.

“He is working on his badges. He’s involved with the U19 team at Arsenal’s academy. He’s preparing himself step by step and he wants to get his badges.
“Question is; would Arsenal want Henry? It depends on the board, the chairman.
“I can see Henry, as well as Vieira. It’s up to the club to prepare well for the post-Arsene era. That’s crucial.”
