‘My phone saved my life’ Survivor tells how his mobile blocked Stade de France shrapnel
This man's phone saved his lived after he was caught up in the Stade de France explosions

A PARIS survivor has told the incredible story of how his phone blocked a deadly piece of flying shrapnel.

Sylvestre was outside the Stade de France when two suicide bombs exploded at the entrances of France’s national stadium.
He had just hung up his phone when he heard a huge explosion.
Sylvestre said: “I was crossing the street and straight away, boom, it exploded right in front of me.

“Everything was blown to bits and I felt stuff flying around and I left, I fell and then I got back up.
“So this is the mobile phone that took the hit, it's what saved me.
“Otherwise my head would have been blown to pieces.”
He added: “It’s a miracle. I wouldn’t wish this on anybody.”

At least 129 people are feared to have been killed in the six attack locations across Paris.
The sound of an explosion was heard at the Stade de France during a friendly game between France and Germany.
The explosions came hours after the German national team were evacuated from their hotel in Paris on Friday after a bomb scare.

Sylvestre said his phone had saved his life
It was only after the game supporters realised what had happened outside the stadium and heard about the gruesome events unfolding across Paris.
In one of the most poignant moments of the last 24 hours French supporters boldly sang the national anthem as they filtered out of the stadium.
A third explosion happened at a nearby McDonalds, French police have confirmed.
