| Leroy Sane has impressed this season for Schalke |
MANCHESTER UNITED have sent scouts to watch German youngster Leroy Sane.
The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene in the Bundesliga in the past year and made his debut for the national team against France last Friday.
This season, he has scored four goals and grabbed three assists in 12 appearances for Schalke.
Liverpool were thought to be leading the race for the teenager but their bitter rivals United now appear to have joined the battle.
According to the Sun, United's German scout Peter Braun has been watching Sane play for Schalke in recent weeks.
The report suggests a bid of around £12million would be enough to sign the player.
