GARY NEVILLE believes Leicester’s next six fixtures will be the ultimate tests for Jamie Vardy.
Vardy equalled Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 consecutive Premier League games when he netted in the 3-0 win over Newcastle last weekend.
The Foxes, who are currently top of the table, take on Manchester United on Saturday before games against Swansea, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Neville has been impressed with Vardy’s meteoric rise this term, which sees him lead the goalscoring charts with 13 strikes.
“Asking the question moving forward about Jamie Vardy, there's no way teams will be as bad as Coloccini and Newcastle's defence were, particularly these next six games, which are tough,” Neville said as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“He's going to get marked tighter.
“I think, watching him with England, the thing that you sometimes see in players, I think, is, can they play in tight areas, can they play when it's quick, in five-a-side.
"Sometimes players like Vardy can be a little bit exposed, because you think about him running in behind.
“But he's got a good touch, a lot better than people give him credit for. He can play in tight areas.
“But I think the next few weeks, against the top defences, is when we'll really see, whether he can adapt when teams give him a lot more respect.”
