JURGEN KLOPP has revealed he wanted to be a doctor before going into management.
The German has seen his reign at Liverpool get off to a strong start, capped by the surprise 4-1 win at Manchester City on Saturday.
Klopp has proved himself to be a charismatic boss since replacing Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, but his career could have gone down a completely different path.
The 48-year-old played his entire professional career at Mainz as a striker and later a defender, but initially wanted to go into medicine.

"A doctor, originally," Klopp said when asked what he wanted to be as a boy. "I think I still might have 'helper syndrome' to a certain extent.
"But I'm not going to lie, I don't think I was ever smart enough for a medical career.
"When they were handing out our A-Level certificates, my headmaster said to me: 'I hope it works out with football, otherwise it’s not looking too good for you'."
