Chris Eubank admits tough love will see his son Chris Eubank Jr go to the top of boxing
Chris Eubank believes his son will reach the top of boxing
CHRIS EUBANK admits that it is tough love that will get son Chris Eubank Jr to the very top of the boxing game.

Former world middleweight champion Eubank who is now known as English to avoid confusion with the 26 year-old who is facing a WBA title eliminator against Spike O’Sullivan in two weeks.
And he believes that the tough love he gives Junior combined with the guidance of Adam Booth who is now in charge of the day to day training will see him go to the very top.
He said: “I am severe but that is what you need with a fighter, fighters who don’t have people who are really strict and unbending and give them their own way only go backwards.
“So being strict around him is good for him and what I like about Adam Booth is that he runs his gym and fighters don’t run him.

“I have seen fighters who are able to manage their trainers and they go down in their ability and they don’t realise how good they can be because they stop listening.
Adam is going to polish Junior up, I like Adam he is really special, if I didn’t like Adam I wouldn’t have hired him.”
Junior has one defeat on his record against Billy Joe Saunders exactly one year ago today and English says that his son has learnt lessons from that fight.
He admits that Junior who is says is a harder puncher than he was needs to engage his boxing intelligence before he reaches the very top.

“He certainly has more fire power and he is a faster than I was, his one punch knock out power will come as it does with all fighters,” he added.
“But what he hasn’t engaged yet is his intelligence, he is like a rottweiler on a leash, and he is fighting to get away from that leash. All he wants to do is to go to war.
“Now he is working with Adam Booth, Adam is asking him to ask permission before going in, and he has the ability to clean the floor.
“That sounds wish but I promise you it’s not. You would have to be in the gym with him every day to see what we are seeing. He didn’t perform on that particular night with Saunders.
“We are trying to get him to pace himself. I don’t even know how to express the abilities that the young man has.”
