ARSENAL'S dressing room was awash with conflicting emotions after Kieran Gibbs proved the unlikely hero to snatch a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham.
"When you are 1-0 down, it's a mixture of relief and regret because if we were really clinical we would have won it in the last 15 minutes," said Wenger. "Olivier Giroud had the chances to score and he is very angry.
"But if I try to be fair, I must say that the point is maybe a fair result. In the second half we showed the mental strength of a side determined not to lose the game. In the end I think it's a good 1-1.
"What this championship shows is that you have to fight 200 per cent in every game for a result. You've seen that in all the games today. It shows it will be down to the team that can find the mental resource in every game."
Wenger put down Arsenal's slow start to a mystery ailment being suffered by Santi Cazorla, who he had dragged off for his own protection at half-time.
"We suffered in the first half as Cazorla was at 30 per cent of his potential," he said. "He was dizzy. He is not sick. He was just dizzy and could not move. I took him off and I hope it is nothing bad. He says he is all right now."
Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino was left feeling short-changed.
"Fair result? I don't know," he said. "My feeling is not fair. I think we deserved more. It's true we concede some chances but my feeling is we deserved to win the game.
"I am very proud of my players and the character we showed, the level we played the game. In six days we played three games. Always it's difficult.
"But I am very pleased. The effort of my players was brilliant. In the end we deserved more but it was a very busy week. We showed maturity. It's a very young team."
