TESCO has "no plans" for a follow-up to its hugely-popular budget tablet.
Tesco has released two tablets in its popular budget tablet range, the Hudl.
But the supermarket firm has decided to call time on its Hudl line.
Newly published comments indicate the retailer has all but given up on the product.
Speaking to Marketing Magazine a spokesman for Tesco said there were “no plans” for a Hudl 3.
When pressed the spokesman elaborated with “nothing planned at the moment”.
Key employees who worked on the Hudl tablet range are also no longer with the company, suggesting the chances of a new Hudl are slim to none.
The first tablet in the Hudl range arrived in September 2013. just in time for Christmas.
The follow-up device Hudl 2 came just shy of a year later, and it was assumed a third model would break cover any day now.
The tablet’s cancellation is puzzling as it was certainly no slouch when it came to sales figures.
Costing just £119, the first Hudl sold more than 750,000 units.
It’s successor was just £10 more and boasted an improved specs sheet, with an HD screen and faster processor.
The Hudl is just the latest of Tesco’s tech offerings that has become a victim of the supermarket’s attempts to reverse its fortunes.
Tesco shed its on-demand streaming service Blinkbox earlier this year.
There’s still time to get your hands on the Hudl and Hudl 2 - just visit the Tesco website before they’re all gone.
