This is Huawei’s answer to the Apple Watch
Huawei sees its new wearable as a fashion accessory – and has priced it as such
SMARTPHONE giant Huawei this afternoon launched its first smartwatch the Huawei Watch at the IFA conference in Berlin.

Huawei – the fourth largest smartphone manufacturer in the world – has released its first smartwatch.
It revealed more details on the circular gadget timepiece to applause at a Press Event at IFA, in Berlin.
The Huawei Watch runs on Google’s open-source Android Wear operating system.

The Watch is compatible with both iPhone and Android smartphones.
“So you don’t only have to buy Apple Watch if you have an iPhone,” CEO of the Consumer, Richard Yu joked on-stage.
The Huawei Watch sports a 1.4-inch, 400 by 400 pixel full circle AMOLED display.
That works out at a pin-sharp 286pixels-per-inch – the highest resolution screen on any Android smartwatch to date.
Similar to the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition, the Huawei Watch sports a durable sapphire crystal lens, which should keep the wristwork gadget from picking up too many scuffs and scratches.

Inside its relatively svelte frame, Huawei have packed a 300mAh battery, which keeps the Huawei Watch powered for 32 hours.
Huawei claims that should keep the Watch on your wrist and powered for a day and a half.
When you do need to charge the Huawei Watch – the firm claims its new wearable will be able to recharge fully in 75minutes.
The Watch supports wifi and connects to your Android or iOS smartphone with Bluetooth 4.1.
Huawei has built a solid smartwatch, with premium materials – and has given it an eye-watering price-tag to match.
The firm’s first smartwatch starts from €399, some £292 and goes all the way up to an Apple-esque €699, around £513.
CEO of Huawei Richard Yu said: “This first smartwatch in our wearables family has been designed following extensive research and demonstrated consumer demand for smart wrist wear.
“The Huawei watch is unique within the market with its premium look and feel and classic design, combined with superior smart technology, which allows users to stay connected on the go.
“No doubt, wearable devices will remain one of the most significant trends in the device industry, and by leveraging Huawei’s technology and innovation, Huawei Consumer BG aims to be a leader in the wearable space.”
