STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS has moved its release date forward in the UK and Europe – and American fans are NOT happy.
The Force may be awakening - but it's doing it earlier over here than in the US.
The original release date of December 18 worldwide has been modified with some countries getting it three days before the United States.
Unsurprisingly, fans in America have reacted with fury towards Disney, the studio behind the latest instalment in George Lucas' epic saga.
"France gets The Force Awakens two whole days before the U.S.? Screw you Disney" wrote one fan on Twitter.
"Feeling a little betrayed @starwars 7 will be releasing in UK and France early. #ForceAwakens #forcedisappoints" commented another disappointed fan.
THE NEW STAR WARS UK & EUROPEAN RELEASE DATES ARE COMING UP NEXT
@EliSlater we got Episode 1 five whole months late than the US in '99. About time for compensation.

The film will open a whopping three days earlier in the United Arab Emirates on December 15.
France, Italy and some other European countries will follow on December 16.
Over here in the UK we will have to wait a little later until the 17th.
Even though that means we are still seeing the film before American audiences, some diehard British fans were also annoyed - because they had already bought tickets for the 18th and will now be a day late seeing the film.
"Eh feck that. I booked the 18th off work so I could go to the midnight showing,' wrote a UK user on Facebook.
Internet interest in Star Wars VII has been sky high all year, with fans poring over rumours and teasers like the recent pictures of Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia.
They analyse every still of each trailer for advance clues, like the mounting information about the real nature of Adam Driver's villainous (or is he?) Kylo Ren, so any news that other people will be seeing anything first is bound to be greeted with dismay and anger.
Some fans were a little more pragmatic, wearily acknowledging how hard it would be to avoid early reviews and spoilers before they go to see the film for themselves.
"Well guess I'll be staying off the internet for two days in Dec " tweeted one disgruntled US film goer.

And this is just the beginning.
Expect the pattern to be repeated as a whole new raft of Star Wars film roll out over the next few years.
Next up is the spin-off Star Wars: Rogue One, starring the British star of The Theory of Everything, Felicity Jones.
This will kick off the Star Wars Anthology trilogy, which is set between the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.
And rumours have already started about the, as yet, unnamed sequel to The Force Awakens. So far, we know that Benicio del Toro has confirmed he will be playing a bad guy and that Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez in highly tipped for the female lead.
The Force needs to be very strong in you to keep up with it all...
