David de Gea's proposed move from Manchester United to Real Madrid collapsed at the last minute |
LIVERPOOL legend Jamie Carragher took aim at Manchester United after David de Gea's proposed move to Real Madrid collapsed.
Carragher appeared to be delighted by the dramatic conclusion of one of the summer's most drawn-out transfer sagas, taking to Twitter to land a dig at his former club's fiercest rivals on transfer deadline day.
"I'm happy DDG is staying his head won't be right, he'll go for free next summer & Man Utd haven't got 20 mil to panic with today," he said.
A deal for De Gea to leave Old Trafford and join the Spanish giants appeared all set to go through.

Both clubs had hoped to complete the deal before the Spanish deadline at 11pm UK time on August 31.
But the expected announcement that the deal had been formally completed never came, with the warring teams left placing the blame at each other.
Carragher's tweet also seemed to poke fun at United's £36m - rising to a potential £58m - capture of Anthony Martial from Monaco.
The 19-year-old striker moved to Old Trafford in the most expensive deal to go through on deadline day.
Martial could also become the most expensive player in France's history, eclipsing the £50m Real paid Juventus for Zinedine Zidane in 2001.
