Sergio Aguero looks on as West Ham celebrate going 2-0 up |
THE rest of the Premier League have been given hope after Manchester City's surprise defeat to West Ham, according to Harry Redknapp.
The league leaders lost their first game of the season to the Hammers on Saturday after winning their opening five matches without conceding a goal.
Neighbours Manchester United moved to within two points of City by beating Southampton while Chelsea are now eight behind.
He told the Telegraph: "It was a big result for Chelsea and a big weekend for the Premier League.
"The whole table looks very different from last week when Manchester City seemed complete and utter certainties. They have proved this week that they are vulnerable with two bad home defeats. It gives everyone else hope.
"They are not going to be ‘Invincibles’ and they will get beaten again on more than one occasion.
"Suddenly the gap to Chelsea is only eight points. Arsenal and Manchester United are still in it. Chelsea, especially, were a much sharper team on Saturday and will look to go on a run of five or six games off the spin.
"The league could look totally different in a few weeks. It feels open again.
"There are three or four teams who will think they have got a chance and, with Costa in the team, that certainly includes Chelsea."
