Destiny's best guns are being left behind in The Taken King |
DESTINY's Taken King update was released by Bungie today, bringing with it the big Year Two changes that will mean many fans having to leave their favourite weapons behind.
The studio have confirmed that some of the best weapons from Year One are being thrown aside to make way for the new gear.
Exotic rocket launcher, Gjallarhorn, Hand Cannon, Thorn and The Last World are some of those being left behind and not being brought forward.
It will mean players will be reduced to using these fan-favourite weapons in old Raids and Strikes from Year One.
Exotic guns from the House of Wolves will eventually be brought forward for The Taken King, Bungie has confirmed.
Indeed, a host of other Year One weapons will make the jump but not until the new ones are successfully balanced.
Taken King creative director, Luke Smith explained to Eurogamer: "It's a balancing act across a variety of teams - we want to look at the PVP and PVE games and do something for both.
"There's an exotic handcannon overbalance right now, which is why we're nerfing Thorn and The Last World and not bringing them forward.
"We're really focusing on the September Year Two exotics. There are loads of new guns to chase, but as for Year One... We're building this back catalogue, kind of like the Disney vault.
