Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho ready for FA battle after Diego Costa recieves three game ban
Diego Costa has been banned for three games after his behaviour in the win over Arsenal
CHELSEA are at war with the Football Association after striker Diego Costa was banned for three games for violent conduct – and may also face a massive legal battle with former doctor Eva Carneiro.

Costa saw his ban upheld by a fast-track FA Regulatory Commission after being charged on Monday with violent conduct following his clash with Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny. But Arsenal defender Gabriel had his red card from the same match rescinded.
Chelsea said in a statement: “We are extremely disappointed with the FA Regulatory Commission’s decision to suspend Diego. We will await their written reasons before commenting further.”

Referee Mike Dean, who later booked Costa, had missed the incident, but TV cameras captured the Spaniard appearing to put his hands in the face of Koscielny, before clashing with Gabriel.
The three-man independent disciplinary commission reached their guilty verdict last night within 90 minutes of the deadline after Chelsea submitted their denial of the violent conduct charge.
Gabriel’s red card for kicking out at Costa was rescinded but his misconduct charge for remonstrating with referee Dean, tangling with Chelsea midfielder Oscar then eventually having to be led off the field by a steward on Saturday was upheld.

Arsenal presented extensive video evidence to clear the Brazilian, showing that there was no clear contact when he did kick out at Costa – though there was apparent intent. Gabriel is now bizarrely left facing a probable fine, but not the three-game ban for his reaction to a red card that has been overturned.
The FA have also charged both Chelsea and Arsenal with failing to control their players. Costa will miss tonight’s Capital One Cup tie at Walsall and the league matches against Newcastle and Southampton.
Chelsea doctor Carneiro, meanwhile, has left the club and is consulting with lawyers over a possible case for constructive dismissal.

Eva Carneiro has left the club after being removed from the bench by Jose Mourinho
Carneiro was banned from first-team duties along with physio Jon Fearn after the home game with Swansea on August 8.
She was due to return for work last Friday having been told she was no longer to attend training sessions, matches or enter the team hotel after provoking Mourinho’s anger when she and Fearn ran on to treat Eden Hazard.
But it is understood she has not been seen at the club’s training ground and is now considering her legal position. Her lawyers met with Chelsea officials on Monday.
Fearn is set to be back on the bench on Saturday. Last week, the FA confirmed it was investigating a complaint that Mourinho used abusive language during the incident.
Last night, FA board member Heather Rabbatts slammed the club for their treatment of Carneiro, saying: “News of her departure from Chelsea makes me feel sadness and anger.

“Eva has acted with professional integrity in difficult circumstances and her skills have been highly praised.
“Eva fulfilled her duty as the senior medic and responded to the referee to enter the field of play to treat a player.
Any other response would have been a dereliction of her duty and a breach of guidelines.
‘In acting properly, she was then subject to verbal abuse and public criticism and, in effect, demoted. Her treatment sends all the wrong messages.
“All those who have an interest in these issues and who have a duty to safeguard relevant policies and procedures should raise their voice in support of Eva and question how she has been treated.”
