Sophia Kupse believes most back pain is all in your mind
IF YOU'VE ever experienced long-term muscle pain, this could be the answer to all your problems without taking medication.

Author Sophia Kupse has written a book that could revolutionise the way we deal with pain in the UK.
If what she's written has any affect, it could change the way medication and hospitalisation is used forever - with more and more people opting for holistic approaches.

Sophie explained an incredible number of people in the UK - "millions" - suffer every year with acute and chronic neck, shoulder and back pain.
She said: "According to NHS Choice magazine, conditions such as lower  back pain  are known to be triggered or made worse by psychological problems such as stress, anxiety or depression.
"In my daily clinic, 95 per cent of patients I see to treat their pain have no known association with any trauma and no understanding of why they began to feel pain."

Knots are caused by negative body chatter, Sophia Kupse explains
Sophia's written Desperately Seeking a Pain Free Self - a book about the relieve physical neck, shoulder and back pain with a return to the inner self.
The holistic practitioner explained what muscle memory is, saying: "Muscle memory is not memories stored in your muscles, but in your brain. It is the memory of movement stored in the part of the brain that controls movement, the Cerebellum.
"When you repeat mistakes again and again, you build a muscle memory with those mistakes. That makes those mistakes even harder to overcome later.
"This is one reason why the saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" is often true. The key to building good muscle memories is to focus on the quality of the quantity."
Sophia claims 'inner negative chatter' can influence physical pain. But what is that?
She said: "When we feel stressed we start a negative conversation within our self, recalling the challenging event triggers the release of adrenaline and cortisol activating the body’s ‘fight and flight’ response.

"The more negative we feel, the more tension we carry in the body, as it reflects our mood. Holding on to negative emotions such as anger, shame, fear, frustration, guilt, allows lactic acid to build in the muscle, creating trigger points commonly known as knots.
"These knots eventually build till they put pressure on the sensory nerves. The nerves send a message to the brain and we feel our physical pain in the corresponding area.
"The more positive we think, by practising daily gratitude and meditation, the more we release good endorphins that heal the body and prevent physical pain."
So, essentially, Sophia is saying the painful knots masseuses have to work so hard pummelling out of your back are all because you let them build up.
She explained: "The most important and significant change a person can make to become happier  inside and out, is to begin by acknowledging the real essence of them self.

Sophia thinks meditation is the way forward when it comes to long term pain
"In order to understand this they need to get in touch with their inner child. They do this by putting their needs first, something we are not used."
She added: "By putting our needs first, we recognise the needs both of our inner child and adult. When we can put our needs first, then we can start our journey of pain recovery that is both physical and emotional.
"We become happier people, not lost in selfishness, jealousy, envy, self pity. We become more caring, loving individuals, as we put our needs first, we learn to respect value and love our self, which is what every child and human wants and needs-love. "
Desperately Seeking a Pain Free Self by Sophia Kupse is available via Amazon and Kindle priced £7.99.
