PAUL SCHOLES still doesn't see Manchester United winning the league this season.
The former United midfielder has been critical of Louis van Gaal's "boring" style of play in recent months, that has seen the Red Devils struggle to find the net.
Wayne Rooney looked to have sealed a late winner against Newcastle tonight, before Paul Dummett's stoppage time strike secured a point for the Magpies in a 3-3 thriller.
And although Scholes felt United showed more attacking intent against Newcastle, he is yet to be convinced if United can win the title.
"They looked a real threat, there was an intent to score goals," Scholes told BT Sport.
"When you look at their upcoming fixtures, every fixture feels like a tricky fixture. You're not sure what United you're going to get and at home they've struggled really.
"The last eight results have not been good enough, obviously. The win against Swansea was good, the draw against Chelsea was good, you probably accept.
"And you have to remember you're playing against a team that's second from bottom with their confidence really low and they've not won that game as well.
"Is it a team that can go on to win the league? I don't think so at the minute.
"Top four is a definite possibility. They should be good enough for the top four without a shadow of a doubt."
