FORMER bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger has hit out at Cecil the lion hunter Walter Palmer on Instagram.
 
The 68-year-old star has joined a number of celebrities who have condemned the American dentist's actions after her killed one of Zimbabwe's most beloved lions.
Arnold took to Instagram yesterday to share his thoughts on the controversial news story.
 
Taking a swipe at the barbaric practice of 'trophy hunting', the Terminator actor clarified what a real trophy should look like.

The star said trophy hunting 'isn't ballsy'
The other half of the image shows a lion in the wild, and the caption continues "these are not".
In another image, Arnold urged: "Stop killing big cats. Killing a lion isn't ballsy. Going into the octagon or joining the military - that's ballsy. Try that before you kill a lion. Protecting big cats = ballsy. I am in - join me at the link in my bio! #5forBigCats."
The star is backing the National Geographic's #5forBigCats campaign which raises money to help protect big cats.

The star said trophy hunting 'isn't ballsy'
News of Cecil's death has sparked global outrage, causing hunter Walter to publicly defend his actions – claiming he didn't know the big cat was protected or part of a decades-long study.
 
Yesterday, former James Bond star Sir Roger Moore called the barbaric pastime a "sick pervasion" and a "coward's pastime" as he called for the practice to be stopped.

"You'd be forgiven for thinking that behind the dentist's unnaturally white teeth is a person devoid of moral fibre, conscience or decency," he scathed in a passionate column in the Telegraph.
The British star added: "'Sport' hunting is a sickness, a perversion and a danger and should be recognised as such.
"People who get their 'amusement' from hunting and killing defenceless animals can only be suffering from a mental disorder.
