WATCH VIDEO: World's largest airliner SKIMS PAST helicopter mid-air

THEY don't come much closer than THIS.

A staggering new video shows the world's largest airliner – an Airbus A380 – perform an insanely close fly-by.
The aeroplane soars beneath a helicopter over the Palm Island in Dubai in this viral clip.
The colossal Airbus A380 – which spans some 72 metres in length – can transport some 500 travellers when used during commercial flights.
However there wasn't anyone aboard when it SKIMMED beneath a helicopter in this hair-raising stunt (which is almost as scary as these two jet-pack stuntmen)

The fly-by was performed by airline operator Emirates for a new video advertisement.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “Emirates can confirm that it is conducting air to air filming of the A380 over various parts of Dubai as well as the UAE, and has safely completed a test flight this morning."
The controlled stunt caused a stir online when the video was first shared. But aviation experts have been quick to point out that – despite appearing dangerously close in the footage – the stunt was totally safe.

One industry expert said: “Wake vortices sink so the chopper was not in danger. Had the Airbus gone over the chopper, its wake turbulence could have flipped the heli over.”
“No matter how you look at it, the A380 came very close to the helicopter.
"The pilots must have been carefully chosen to have plenty of flying experience and knew how to handle this type of manoeuvre."
