Chelsea will have to pay a huge fee for Antoine Griezmann |
ATLETICO MADRID have increased the buy-out clause in Antoine Griezmann's contract and Chelsea will have to pay in excess of £46million to sign him, according to reports.
Chelsea have long been linked with the French attacker and were thought to be considering a bid of around £28m earlier in the summer.
However, he previously had a clause of £46.1m installed into his deal and Spanish publication AS claim it has been upped.
He remains under contract at the Vicente Calderon stadium until 2020.
The 24-year-old has already outlined his desire to stay in Spain despite reported interest from all over Europe.
Bayern Munich are also understood to be keeping tabs on his situation.
Griezmann moved to Madrid at the start of last season for around £24m from La Liga rivals Real Sociedad and scored 22 goals in 37 league games.
A France international, he has been capped by his country on 18 occasions, scoring five goals.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be a long-term admirer but will have to break the bank to force through a deal.
He has previously insisted he is happy with his current attacking trio of Diego Costa, Loic Remy and new boy Radamel Falcao.
