And now it's official, Lionel Richie has confirmed that he has been in touch with Adele about working together.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He also insists that there are no hard feelings, despite some friends telling him he should sue Adele for stealing his famous song.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"You have no idea how many people called me on the phone and said, 'Are you going to let her get away with that? She stole Hello.'" he told E News</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Then I said, 'I don’t own Hello. I own the melody. But what it did was it blew everything to the ceiling."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Speaking of ceilings, Richie admitted he was dancing on his when he heard the news.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The 66-year-old initially thought that Adele had covered his own 1984 classic when he heard the title of her new song.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Someone said to me, ‘Lionel, Adele did ‘Hello’ and I said, ‘Retirement. I am done,’” he laughed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although he quickly realised his mistake, he didn't waste time imagining the musical possibilities of a collaboration.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"If you say Adele and you say Lionel or Lionel and Adele – that’s the best pairing you could have,” he modestly added.</div>
