FELIPE ANDERSON has been criticised by Lazio coach Stefano Pioli for his poor performances this season.
Anderson inspired Lazio to a third-place finish in Serie A last season, but his form has dropped off after he was linked with a move to Manchester United.
The Brazilian has scored five goals in 23 appearances for the Serie A club this term, and his agent was in England earlier this week to discuss a £36.7million deal with United officials.
But it has been reported that United have been delayed in their pursuit of the 22-year-old because the player is hanging on to make sure he receives the bonus payment that has been promised to him as part of his buyout clause.
And Anderson's coach has hit out at him as he continues to produce underwhelming displays for Lazio.
He was substituted at half-time of a goalless draw with promoted Carpi at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday and after the match Pioli questioned the midfielder's contribution.
"I believe he can do a lot more. I know it and he knows it," Pioli said.
"I had to change him because I'm the coach and I have to make decisions. But for the first 45 minutes I don't think it was fair to focus everything on one player, I wanted the whole team to play with more rhythm and intensity."
