Manchester United legend announces retirement after injury problems
Nemanja Vidic has retired from football aged 34

Vidic, 34, had his contract with Inter Milan cancelled by mutual consent last week.
The Serbian defender joined Inter on a free transfer in July 2014 but hasn’t played a game this season after surgery on a hernia in August and he confirmed his retirement was because of his injury problems.

Vidic told United’s club website: “The time has come for me to hang up my boots. The injuries I have had in the last few years have taken their toll.
"I would like to thank all the players I have played with, all the managers and staff I have worked with, and say a big 'thank you' to the fans for their support over the years."

Sir Alex Ferguson signed Vidic from Spartak Moscow in 2006 for around £7million and he went on to make 300 appearances in eight trophy-laden years at Old Trafford.
He helped the Red Devils to win five Premier League titles, three League Cups and the Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup in 2008.

His win percentage of 71 per cent is the highest of all players to have made more than 200 Premier League appearances.
Vidic also played 56 times for Serbia and played all three of their matches at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
