JUST Cause 3 fans on the PC platform can look forward to another major project being built to provide a new multiplayer experience, something PS4 and Xbox One are going to miss out on.
Just Cause 3 followed suit with its predecessor by not including a multiplayer, something that was eventually remedied in Just Cause 2 by modders.
Now the same team that worked on the ambitious mod project have announced they will attempt the same for Just Cause 3.
No further details on when the multiplayer mod will see release, although JC3-MP development team did provide a concept demo of what they hope to achieve.
An official post from the modding team confirmed: "As we make our way into the New Year we wanted to take a moment to show off a little somethin’ somethin’ we’ve been working on! Introducing, JC3-MP!
"We’re incredibly excited to show off the progress we’ve made these last few weeks. Moving forward you can expect frequent updates on our progress along with exciting new developments as they happen.
"From all of us on the Just Cause Multiplayer team, we’d like to wish you all a happy New Year!"
The JC2-MP mod helped propel the game to even bigger sales on Steam and was widely praised by Just Cause 2 developers, Avalanche, who called it "Absolutely fantastic".
Studio co-founder Christofer Sundberg said at the time: "We owe those guys a lot. They have actually supported the game and helped it stay alive so many years after it was released.
"We don't expect the fans to make the multiplayer for Just Cause 3, but at some point you have to make a choice on where your focus is."
