MICHAEL RAYNES has been bombarded with pictures of Romelu Lukaku on his phone all week as friends wind him up about his televised meeting with the Everton striker on Sunday.
But despite labelling the striker as "scary", the Carlisle centre-half insists he cannot wait to get to grips with the forward in the flesh when the League Two side tackle the Toffees.
The Cumbrians' centre-half, who looks set to keep the armband with club skipper Danny Grainger still out with an ankle injury, is well aware of the threat posed by the Premier League's top scorer.
"He's big, strong and scary and he is worth £65million so they say which is probably enough to buy Carlisle several times over," he said ahead of their fourth round tie.
"It will be a special day and the sort of day that you play the game for but I believe all the pressure will be on them."
Carlisle played their first match back at Brunton Park following the devastating effects of the floods in early December when they drew with York City on Saturday.
The pitch had to be relaid after being submerged and the rest of the ground, including offices, are yet to return to normal.
Raynes and five other squad players had first-hand experience of the floods when their lodgings, a house owned by the club in Warwick Road next to Brunton Park, was flooded.
"We were away at Welling in the second round of the Cup but when we go back the house was devastated with the water up to the ceiling on the ground floor," he said.
"Our keeper, Mark Gillespie, was injured at the time and he was upstairs in the house when the water was rising. We have all since had to move out into B&Bs but it has put the season in perspective for us all."
