MOBILE firms EE and O2 say they are experiencing problems with the network, which could leave some customers unable to make or receive phone calls.

A spokesman for EE said: “We are aware of an issue with some customers not being able to make or receive calls, sorry for the inconvenience.“It is being looked in to as quickly as possible and is a priority 1 for us.”

The network, which was founded in 2010 after the merger of mobile giants Orange and T-Mobile, also said it was unlikely to refund customers because the outage was a “a short term issue”.The company was unable to say how long it would take before the matter was resolved, but pledged it would deal with the problem “ASAP”.

In a statement on their Live Status Checker webpage, O2 confirmed BT was investigating an issue with its network.A spokesman said: ”We are aware of an issue where some O2 customers may be experiencing difficulties making calls from their mobile to EE mobiles and to landline numbers."BT, our fixed line partner, have confirmed they are investigating a problem within their network and we apologise for any inconvenience."EE customer Lianne Garner wrote: “It’s still not working! Getting the right hump now”Meanwhile, O2 customer Gareth Dean, of Oldham, posted: “Cant currently make any outgoing calls stopping me from working... not ideal..”
