JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK is set to be installed as QPR's new manager after opening talks with the Championship club.
Rangers were yesterday granted permission by Burton to speak to the 43-year-old Dutchman about becoming their fifth boss in as many years.
It appears his arrival at Loftus Road is now a formality with co-chairman Ruben Gnanalingam flying in to London to finalise the terms of the contract.
Caretaker coach Neil Warnock is expected to remain in charge for tonight's league match at Reading.
But the former Chelsea striker's appointment could even be announced before kick-off if negotiations are concluded swiftly.
Rangers did hold talks with Paul Lambert, who has since taken charge of Blackburn, and former Charlton and Huddersfield manager Chris Powell.
But Hasselbaink has always been QPR's first one choice to replace Chris Ramsey - sacked a month ago - after impressing during his first managerial job in English football.
He led Burton to promotion from League Two last season and is poised to leave them perched at the top of the third tier.
