Arsene Wenger rattles off stats to prove Arsenal’s strength after West Brom defeat
Arsene Wenger says his Arsenal side were unlucky against West Brom
ARSENE WENGER insists Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to West Brom last weekend was a mere blip in their quest for the title.

The Gunners took the lead through only for James Morrison and an Mikel Arteta own goal to reverse the tie.
Santi Cazorla missed a penalty late on to condemn Arsenal to defeat but, having beaten Dynamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday, Wenger is adamant his team are back to their best.
“In the last 38 games when we scored first, and we were 1-0 up, we won 37 times,” he said. “In the last 25 games before West Brom, when we scored first we won 25 times.
“You have to consider that mathematically as an accident.”

On events at the Hawthorns he added: “Everything went against us, they had one shot on target and scored two goals. That will not always happen.
“On top of that we missed a penalty and scored an own goal, so we had a nightmare.
“It was an unlucky day, that can happen in a season but it is how you respond to that and we did that well on Tuesday.”

Arsenal travel to Norwich for Sunday’s 4.15pm kick off knowing they could top the league by the end of the weekend if other results go their way.
They beat the Canaries 2-0 at Carrow Road last term and Wenger believes his men are in a good place as the title race heats up.
“We are in a position where you want to be after 13 games but there are 25 to go.” he said.

“If there’s five or six to go and we are in the race, of course (Arsenal have a chance of the title).
“But at the moment it is too early, I think we have a chance but it is very early.
“I know people always want to know what will happen in the future but let’s take care of the game on Sunday.”
