MESUT OZIL is "finally delivering" for Arsenal this season, according to club hero Thierry Henry.
The German got his tenth assist of the 2015/16 campaign when his cross was met by Kieran Gibbs at the back post to rescue a point for the Gunners in the north London derby yesterday.
The assist set a new Premier League record of six consecutive matches where the 27-year-old has made the decisive pass for Arsenal goals.
And Henry praised Ozil for his "awareness" and "class".
"For me, he's finally delivering this season," Henry told Sky Sports.
"You can see his awareness, you can see his class - we all know about his touch.
"He's a world champion but he wasn't doing it week in, week out and now he is; early crosses, great passes behind the back four, one-twos."
While Gary Neville was impressed with Ozil's ability to consistently deliver the "right" pass.
"He found it tough for 75 minutes, but you know when the ball lands at his feet, the delivery more often than not is very good," said Neville.
"He picks the right pass.
"It's no surprise that it was his delivery at the end. He does a lot of the right things on the ball and delivers it into the right areas.
"It's a great, great record. It's some feat and he's playing now at the level that we all imagined he would."
Former Liverpool skipper Graeme Souness agreed with Henry and Neville, describing Arsenal as the "perfect" team for Ozil's talents.
"He's got wing mirrors; he can see everything that's going on around him," said Souness.
"We've got used to the silkiness, but I think people have been frustrated that they've not seen the aggression, the sprinting to win the ball back.
"I think you have to accept that, because he gives you so much when you've got the ball in the opposition third and that's the most difficult place to play.
"He's a class act and Arsenal are the perfect team for him. He's one of those whom - on his day - you'd pay to see play."
