RONALD KOEMAN admits Southampton will have to be prepared for the inevitable departure of Sadio Mane.
The 23-year-old forward has been in fine form for the Saints term, scoring five goals and assisting six in all competitions this term.
The Senegal international was heavily linked with a move to the Manchester United throughout the summer, but Koeman stood firm.
And the Dutchman's decision to fend off the reported interest was vindicated in his performance in Saturday's 3-1 win over champions Chelsea, scoring one and setting up another.
And Koeman admits he's enjoying having Mane at St Mary's while he still can as he knows Southampton will struggle to hold on to him in future windows.
"Maybe one day we will lose Mane but then we have to be prepared," Koeman told the Daily Echo.
"You know in our situation that kind of player, if they play (like he did against Chelsea), there will come a lot of interest in the end of the season.
The Dutch tactician added: "But now we enjoy watching Mane in our team."
Mane joined the ranks at Southampton for £11.8million last year from Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg, penning a four-year deal.
